Aaliyah Harriett is a street dance teacher who has also trained in a range of other dance technique including ballet, modern, tap, jazz and contemporary.

 

Aaliyah’s interest in dance grew age 13 when she auditioned for a street dance group formed by Christina Taylor. The entire experience opened her eyes to the world of hip hop and pushed her to be better. From then on, Aaliyah’s training concentrated on hip hop and her dedication led her to winning several titles such as ‘UDO British, North West and Midland Champion’ as well as doing performances and opening concerts.

 

During training under Christina, Aaliyah took part voluntary work teaching dance to young people – helping her with her teaching ability. Aaliyah’s ballet technique was challenged when she joined ‘The Centre of Advanced Training’ – there she trained in ballet, contemporary and contextual studies.

 

During this time, she had the opportunity to work with industry names such as Rambert, Trinity Laban and Phoenix Dance Company.

 

Some of Aaliyah’s credits include: Opening JLS Hashtag Party, Opening Rick Ross Concert, Platnum Music Video, Swimzi Sports apparel and CBBC’s 4’Oclock club. Aaliyah has also performed at Northern School of Contemporary Dance with Phoenix Dance Company, Manchester United’s Santa Run, Playfactore’s Halloween event.

 

With her experience teaching young people from a young age, Aaliyah has also gained some teaching credits including: Bolton Wanderers, Salford Red Devils, NCS, Active Dance and Danceworks. 

 

Aaliyah seeks to continue learning and sharing dance with others and looks forward to helping the children at the ASH company to reach their full potential!
