
Tia, our cultural facilitator, dancehall teacher & 1/2 of “Yin Yang Twinz” provide regular dancehall classes and educate students on the dancehall culture through ‘Yin Yang Dance’.
Tia danced with TLG Dance from the age of 11, started teaching street dance at the age of 16 and joined Gorse Hill Studios where she joined the group SupaFly, training and competing with Christina.
Whilst studying her mathematics degree, Tia was Vice President of LUU Street Dance Society, organising their rehearsals, teachers and placing 1st and 2nd in the intermediate and beginner’s category for the first time in history in the Go Hard or Go Home University competition.
Tia frequently travels to Jamaica to train in dancehall and in 2022 volunteered at The University of the West Indies and taught dance classes for the youth of Kingston. Embracing her dancehall journey,
Tia has taught in workshops all over the UK, brought dancehall education to schools and
organisations with her brand Yin Yang, Tia has worked with many artist and brands such as: BURNA BOY, AITCH, ITV, Samsung putting dancehall on commercial platforms and changing the stigma that comes with the dancehall culture at times.
In 2020, Tia created Yin Yang Twinz, a dancehall duo, bringing back a positive stigma to dancehall through content creation. YY Twinz then joined Dancehall Funk Company, an online dancehall intensive training with some of the best dancehall dancers in the USA, JAMAICA & Europe.
Tia, a maths specialist and teacher, also tutors Maths at at Aim Sky High HQ, providing academic
support to students in and out of ASH.
